Michael Grayson had his life planned out along with his fiancee, Skylar Morrison. 
A week before the wedding, Skylar mysteriously disappears. Twenty days after her disappearance, Michael receives a call from the police department informing him Skylar's body was found in a motel in Vancouver Washington. A heartbroken Michael travels to Washington to say his last goodbye to his true love. While staying in Skylar's old apartment, he finds a manila folder. Within it are twenty morbid letters written by Skylar, describing the reason behind Skylar's death and what he must do in order to regain his happiness.
