I'm talking to you through this book about some important stuff that are personal to me and to you. Maybe you think about them but you can't discuss them with someone else because it would be too awkward or weird. Maybe you don't have someone to talk to - or at least someone who will understand. It may be not important to a lot of people but it is to you. 
You can talk to me, and I'll be there for you in a way that won't make you feel awkward.
