"I'm going to set you free," I whispered.

He looked startled by my appearance. "Mate. What are you doing here?"

"Shhh..."

I tried to fit the first key into the keyhole, but it wouldn't budge. Sighing, I tried the second key, but to no avail. Taking out the third one, I prayed for the best.

Please let this be the one, I thought. I glanced at my mate, but he just looked amused by my actions.

"What are you laughing at?" I huffed angrily. Here I was, risking my life trying to set this rogue free, when he's just laughing at my silly gestures.

Thrusting in the third key, it surprised me that it fit in perfectly. I hurriedly twisted it, and with a pop, the metal lock sprang open. I heaved a sigh of relief and opened the metal gate.

"Out you go, now. And stay quiet." I looked behind me to make sure the Guards were still sleeping.

"Who said anything about going?"

I gasped, and stared daggers into my mate. "Not going?"

That little bastard.
