We all know the story of Cinderella, how her stepmother treated her badly, how she lost her shoe, and how she fell in love with the prince. This story follows that exact storyline......with one difference. The king is dying and in this story, Cinderella might be the only one to help the kingdom from falling apart. What started as a fancy ball, turned out to be a cup full of lies, betrayal, death, heroism...and most important - Hope!

In this retelling of a classic tale, Mariette struggles through life with a stepmother that hates her.
