The Starship Grokmar has a problem. Somewhere along the way it forgot what its mission was. Fortunately or maybe unfortunately for Grokmar, it still has its crew of five humans from the Appalachians on board to help it rediscover its purpose.

Four months ago, Earth was attacked by a cyborg species called Scrappers. Two months ago, the Scrappers stopped killing and started taking.
