The dark and unforgiving time of the Onslaught has descended on the world of Esothiea and a soul has been Chosen to seek out the Orb of Tilgh. An object of immeasurable power that will either save everyone, or send the world spiralling into desolation.
While heroes come in all shapes and sizes, this quest requires age and experience, and Florence James is just the woman for the job. Her feisty nature, resilient spirit and sense of humour are exactly what's needed - that and the fact that she's eighty-three years old.
Accompanied by her cautious carer, Quentin, who tries to keep her safe and medicated - and her three cats who are as mysterious as they are cute. Florence must traverse the world, facing many dangers to find the Orb before it's too late. Armed only with a pair of stabulous knitting needles and her trusty walking stick.
