Clary Fray wanted to help people. She had her entire life, leading her to dream of entering the medical field and moving far away from New York. And her gang banging father. He was all for the idea of his one surviving child entering the field considering how often his men got hurt and how inconspicuous their recovery had to be. This wasn't the path Clary had counted on, but when her father makes an offer she can't refuse, she may be willing to bend the rules one more time.
Jace had no one. Not a soul would miss him if he fell off the face of the earth, except maybe his new boss. Valentine Morgenstern leader of the gang "Shadowhunters" Jace was the best of the best in fighting , but when he is injured in a showdown, Valentine would do anything to get him back to work. Even if it meant making a call to his less than enthusiastic daughter.
