"You have a family, Elodie." Millie says. I nod. I know that. I don't know how I know, I just do. Millie continues. "You have a life somewhere, you just don't remember it." How can I not remember it? That makes no sense. "Its my job to help you...find them again. I need to give you your original life back." "But I don't remember my old life." I say, scrunching up my face in frustration. "Why would I want to go back if I can't even remember-" my voice cracks. Because suddenly I understand the point Millie is trying to make. I speak again. "If I don't make it back, to my family and my of life, I'll die, won't I?" Millie nods silently, a grim smile on her face. She's pretty wise for an eleven-year-old.
