Ruby has lived at the Annie's Place in southern Ohio for a year, and she now considers it her home. Although her parents still own a house, it's more like a tool shed at this point. They only keep things there that won't fit in the Annie's Place, and not much of anything will fit in the Annie's Place. Ruby's little brother has leukemia-a type of cancer. So her whole family has to stay right next to hospital, which is in the middle of nowhere. It's their only choice to stay at the Annie's Place. And although it may seem easy just to live in a hotel, it's not. At least not for Ruby.

Ariel isn't a princess. In fact, she's nothing close to that. She wants to be popular in school, but she doesn't know how. It's so simple for some of the other kids. Why is it different for Ariel? And sure, she has some friends, but they're just the weird girls who everyone gives weird looks. Ariel doesn't think that's where she should fit in, but how is she supposed to change what's already been decided?

This is a story of two girls who have totally different problems, but will both have the same outcome. It is based off of my actual life, and I believe everyone who reads it will enjoy it!
