Adeline Reed had always wanted to travel the world. Growing up in a family of bakers, cooking was in her blood, and learning different technique and secrets while traveling the globe was her dream. Just graduating from New York City's Institute of Culinary Education, she was completely ready to backpack her way across the world and learn recipes from the natives themselves. Her dream was set in stone, until, one fateful night, it wasn't anymore.
Her parents' death leaves Adeline with the family owned bakery that has been passed down through generations of Reeds, and a responsibility she can't refuse. It's hard enough to stay afloat in the heart of New York City, but a small bakery surrounded by franchise after franchise, and increasing pressure from businesses to sell out her property, it make her job even harder.
Then comes Cade Callaway, a big business man himself, storming into her life, his stubbornness and persistence only a preview of what to come. With an impossible deal she can't refuse, she is thrown into a whole lot of complications she never would have seen coming.
