From the author of "The Mermaid Spell" and "Cursed to the Sea" comes a Gatsby-inspired Beauty and the Beast retelling. Once a member of one of New York's richest tycoon families, Belle's family has fallen under hard times and forced to move from their estate into a tiny apartment to avoid her father's neverending debts and the threat of the city's crime family promising to eliminate her and her two sisters. When she loses her job and can't find a way to support her family, she takes up an offer she can't refuse from a mysterious man who is known for throwing the most infamous parties but whose features appear more beastly than human.

We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast. This story follows the outline of the traditional story pretty well with some changes to make it seems more real, more intense, and not such a fairytale. There's a Mansion secluded in the thick forest south of town that Isabelle happened to run into one very stormy night. Denied help from the Master, but aided by the servants, she finds her life intertwined with theirs and there's nothing she can do to stop it. The Master is horrible - beastly. He's powerful, and manages to put Isabelle under a spell of his own. A story of two people learning about themselves by falling in love with the other. Here's my version of Beauty and the Beast.
