Kiaan is a fifteen year old freshmen with a love of psychology and philosophy who tends to hold quite unpopular opinions compared to his peers. A gay agnostic atheist at heart, Kiaan struggles with accepting his attraction to men and lost face in the faith he was raised in, Islam. In most places of the world this wouldn't seem like a very big issue to most, but in Saudi Arabia where gay people and "infidels" (citizens who leave Islam and refuse to convert back) are regularly executed for their attractions and opinions- Kiaan feels quite unwelcome and has to live with putting on a facade around everyone he meets. Kiaan hides his true self from everyone around him until he meets a young member of the Saudi nobility who steals his heart and completely changes his world; for better or for worse.
