After the pressure of mass extinction and extreme environmental shifts that left the human race crumbled to within an inch of existence. The government decided what we needed was a kick start to our evolution. A form of natural selection that left only the most resilient of the species in our society. 
That is how selection began, that is why selection continues. 

 Asher Vanburen, is an 18 year old man who is facing his year of selection. 
Romance. 
Friendship. 
Humanity. 
He stands to lose it all in the trials to come. 
So will he be fit enough to make it to the new year alive, or will he meet the same weak fate as his brother?
