Castiel is an angel of the Lord who lost his grace. After being kicked out of the Men of Letter's bunker, he was left homeless.
Oblivious to the fact that Dean had turned, Cas was completely ecstatic when he received a visit from his best friend.
Little did he know that Dean wasn't there just to visit. He was there to reap Castiel.
But, one kiss could change it all. Change Dean's already twisted mind.
Cas has lost his grace. The most vital part of an angel. He has to go through a series of trials. Seven trials. Seven deadly sins. Can he bear going through them? Is he the only one going through the trials?

Sweet fluff ensues, and it's soon after that Dean learns Cas' biggest secret. He is also faced with emotions he has never felt before, especially in regards to Cas. He finds himself jealous and angry when he sees Cas with Luke, and at his brother's suggestion he decides to confront his true feelings for his best friend, and tell him how he really feels. There is a lot of pain and heartache in the beginning for Cas, but I swear it ends on a good note. I love the idea of Destiel, that a human and an angel can move beyond the physical boundaries of the human body, and find something deeper in each other, during a time when they are both ships tossing in a chaotic sea of emotions, and at a time when their lives are absolutely falling apart. They cling to one another, each becoming the other's safe harbor. It's transcends sex, moves beyond the fact that they are both in male form. It is love in its purest form, and it is on a deep and spiritual level. The idea that someone as broken as Dean Winchester can find someone that can see past the darkest parts of himself to the light within and still love him I think is the most beautiful thing on earth.
