Voor sommigen klonk het griezelig, voor sommige als een uitdaging. De meesten vonden het klinken als de dood.
Voor mij klonk het niet zo, voor mij klinkt het als een hereniging.

Clove Kentwell en Katniss Everdeen waren ooit vriendinnen, gescheiden door Snow. Katniss werd verbannen naar District 12, en ze zagen elkaar nooit meer. Tot op het moment dat ze samen in de 74e Hongerspelen komen. Ze zijn dolenthousiast en besloten direct dat ze dit samen gingen doen. Maar zo simpel was het niet. Katniss komt tóch uit District 12. En 12 en 2?
