Zayla and her parents moved around a lot. When they arrived at a town, Beacon Hills, her neighbors across the street came over and helped them unload the moving van. They had a little boy my age, Liam. 2nd grade was about to begin in about a month and a half, Liam and Zayla became friends instantly. They became inseperable after hanging out for the 4th of July. 
Zayla's parents are hunters, not your typical hunter; they hunt werewolves. Once night about midway through 2nd grade they left for a mission but never came home. 
That day she'll never forget. They just had another baby when they left for that mission, she is not a few months old. Her and Liam get off the school bus, when Liam's dad told her the terrible news. 
Will she ever find out who killed her parents?
