I wrote this recently after my daughter's accident. It effected me more than I could bear to admit. This is not a perfect poem (none of mine are) but it is heartfelt.All Rights Reserved

**finished manuscript in the revision and editing process** Lola and I are best friends, partners in life. Only I can see her, hear her, touch her. Ever since the accident that killed my mother, she's stuck with me, made it easier to live my life comfortably detached. I don't remember the accident. All I have are gnarled memories in the form of night terrors. But I am determined to unravel it, piece by piece. Even if it hurts one or the both of us.
