My paint is chipping off.
I'm drying up; all those years of people painting over me are finally starting to settle, the brush strokes are finally deciding their place on my body.
I was never considered one of them. I was always just an already painted canvas; pretty to look at, but there was always something to fix. People wanted to know who I was. Not the meaning behind my art, not the story behind the portrait, but the portrait itself. They wanted to feel the art, and no matter how much I protested, they would never listen.
You used to be one of them. You would pay to see and feel the art that I am, but you wanted more than that. You wanted to know the story, you wanted to know the meaning, you wanted to feel more than paint drops and brush strokes; you wanted to feel the emotion. And that is exactly why you have fallen for me now.
I tried to warn you, that my world was just an art piece that everyone paid to contribute to. I tried to tell you that you would end up breaking, but you refused. You told me you were happier around me. You told me that I stitched up your wounds.
I don't want to be selfish. I don't want to make it look like that I'm taking you for granted. But I need you. I'm feeling too many colours at once, Namjoon. I need to conceal them, and I need your help.
Now please...please, don't let my colours dry up. Please don't let their harsh shades make marks on me, please hide them, please take me where I can be something other than a piece of paper to draw on. Please...
Paint me white, before I can be pure no longer.
