In 1987, an 18 year old boy named Kennith Simmons hacked a national television broadcast for about 24 hours, starting once the particular station getting hijacked went off air and ending around the same time the following night. During this event, a program of colors and audio frequencies was broadcasted, causing it's viewers to fall into a brainwashed state. Viewers were unable to turn the TV off, look away, or do anything that could break the trance. Viewers were told horrible things about how unloved they are, how nobody would care if they died...

"Listen Kenzy, I know I've been an ass and truthfully maybe you shouldn't even bother returning my calls. You're right, I've been nothing but awful since we met, driving you away yet desperate to keep you close" My heart clinches, but I dared not breathe. Too afraid to give in, too afraid that if I reach for the phone, I'll call. I'll call to make it right. I want to make it right, because this man affects me more than I ever thought he would. But it isn't right. I can't give myself false hope. "Please just talk to me, let me explain. It's not you.....it's me. I'm the asshole. You don't deserve this, you didn't. ..." He pauses and I hold my breath still, fearing he'd hear me breathe, yet, it's only his left voicemail on the phone. Not him "I'm sorry.......dammit!" And that's it, our one sided conversation ends and I'm more broken than before. What happens when your world crashes? When the people you thought would be there forever literally runs through the door without a second glance backwards? What happens with taking a step outside your comfort zone? What happens when that step outside that comfort zone turns into....well unexpected? Personalities clash, feelings are crushed and just maybe that one person you ignore turns out to be the damn life savers. Easy enough, but did I forget to mention they belong to someone else? Will what happens in summer stay with summer? The beautiful cover was done by @LittleRedConverse23, go check out her great work ❤❤❤ #thebuttercupawards2020 #RoseAwards

My mind was screaming for help. I remembered there was still hope left or help. I dragged myself towards my pillow and moved my hand under it and took out the cell phone which Max gave me. I switched it on. Should I really make a call I asked myself. It was one-thirty at night. I think I should that's what my guts were telling me. My thump was hovering over the call option. I closed my eyes when all the things that happened to me this night flashed in front of me. I realized that I should for help and touched the call option. It was ringing, after three-ring, the call was received. "Faith" That was the first word I heard from the other side. The tone of his voice was concerning and sounded worried his voice was soothing and husky, one could melt easily on it. "Help me" was all I could say to this stranger and tears were rolling down...

LIGHTS OUT

9 parts Ongoing

You thought your phone was broken when it read nine-forty-three in the morning while it was pitch black outside. One look at social media gave you all the information you needed to know what was happening. The sun was gone. Everywhere, in every state, city, country. Not only that, but people were making up all kinds of excuses for why it was missing. Yet, with each hour that passed, it kept worsening. People began looting in major cities, creating mobs to rush important buildings or block off busy roads. You, living in a semi-large city, could hear the sounds from afar; until those sounds turned to screaming, yelling, running. There were things out there. Things that wanted to hurt you. People that wanted to hurt you. Will daybreak ever come again? Or was this new, apocalyptic setting forever your new reality? ...And why did a masked, bloodied, man just break into your bathroom? ORIGINALLY POSTED ON QUOTEV.
