The consequences are life shattering. She is violated by one of her daddy's drunken friends, which sends her life into a downward spiral. Meet a colorful cast of characters, including kindly Miss Ellen, who is Jade's neighbor and protector, Renée a peculiar woman who sings and shouts, and a school teacher who just might be the one to help with "Polishing Jade".
