This is set in Five Kingdoms: Sky Raiders, specifically when Cole and his friends are heading into Middlebranch. The ending will still be the same from the books, but I changed it in a way that adds more Mirace fluff
The collision of their inner storms has created a growing rift between Mira and Jace. The following attack on Middlebranch, plus the dwindling safety of the innocent townspeople, doesn't exactly help matters either. Chaos ensues and secrets are revealed, but it's clear that the deadliest battle is nothing compared to the war of unresolved tension between these two.
