"I'm not gay," Steve insisted with a laugh, tossing his head back as if Tony had cracked one of the funniest jokes in history. On this rare occasion, however, Tony Stark had been dead serious when he brought up the idea that Steve should be questioning his sexuality.

"C'mon Stark, we're writing down names of people to invite to my bachelor party, which if you haven't forgotten, is because I'm getting married to Sharon Carter who just so happens, to be female."

   "I'll make you a bet."

Steve nodded for him to continue, watching as Tony crossed his arms, gazing up at the ceiling.

"For one week you have to date one of the guys on that list." Tony held up a hand as Steve began to interrupt, a horrified expression on his face. "You get to choose who it is," he continued, "and it's only for a week."

"At the end of the week if you're still convinced that you're straight...I'll pay for your wedding."

Steve didn't hesitate, sealing the deal with a firm shake.

"I'm guessing you're here to try and recruit me? Again?" I ask him patiently. I believe this is the fifth-time Nick Fury has come calling. Each and every time I have turned him down, but eventually he comes back and proposes the same thing. "No, I'm here to see if you'd like some girl scout cookies. The Samoa's are selling really well this year." Nick sasses while giving me his signature glare. I smirk. He's a sarcastic jerk, but he is funny. "Oh, well in that case..." I start and trail off, knowing it'll make him even more frustrated. He huffs and my smirk grows. "Why do you want me so bad?" I ask, honestly wanting to know. I watch Nick as he sighs deeply and clasps his hands in front of him. "Your skill set is equal to the best that we have. You would be an invaluable part of the team." He explains, but he knows that isn't what I mean. We stare at each other for a moment before he sighs again. "Your history only makes you more of an impressive subject." He continues and I groan. "The point is that you would help put an end to what happened to you, on a global scale." He says. "Think about it, Shifter." Nick drops a folder on the concrete and starts to walk back to the exit of the roof. I flip through the folder lazily, barely skimming the papers, but I know all of the names already. Once I've gone through most of it I stop and toss it in the dust behind me. Reading it was useless. I wasn't made to be any sort of hero. I DO NOT OWN THE AVENGERS. ONLY THE CHARACTERS AND THE SITUATIONS I CREATE.

I look up at Tony Stark through my long lashes. He gives me a smirk as I give him an innocent smile. That's right Stark, fall right into my trap. "Hey Tony, whe-" Rogers interrupts. I quickly turn my head, trying not to let him see my face. "Rogers, I'm kind of in the middle of something," Tony says. There's no way he remembers me. "You..." Steve says. I bring my glass to my lips and change the color of my eyes and my nose structure before looking back at Steve. "I thought you were... never mind, my apologies. Tony where is that thing I asked you about?" Steve asks him. I let out a breath. "Oh the program to find your mystery girl? It's on my desk," Tony smiles at him. Mystery girl? Mystery girl! I need to hurry this up.
