Those who stand alone is the story about a boy named Matthew who acquires an Illness that targets his lungs and is forced to move in at a hospital's treatment center, so he can be treated and hopefully cured. He has loving parents that promise to visit him at least twice a week and friends that will miss him. He has everything.
Those who Stand alone is also the story about a boy named Jacob who has terminal leukemia Cancer. He's lived at the hospital for the past year, so he can be treated in till he inevitably dies. His parents dropped him off there 12 months ago and haven't visited him since and he has no friends. He has nothing. That is in till Matthew arrives.
