John Smith was brilliant, one of the brightest in his year. But that didn’t make everything okay, because he was alone.

Rose Tyler was regular, no one who stood out all that much. She lived a normal life at home with her mother, Jackie and little brother Tony, but her father had died as a child and left them with next to nothing.

When one day John decides to leave an anonymous note to the person who uses his desk after him, explaining his life, both their lives change. For the better, because little does he know, Rose gets the notes.
