Day Winters used to be happy, she had a normal life with normal teenage things, until the day her best friend died.

Now Day is alone, she has no one to talk to, no one to turn to or rely on but the mysterious stranger who pushed the stem of a rose into her palm the day of Madison Moore's funeral. 

Forced to live with her older brother Eric because of her parents arrupt divorce in Salem, Oregan. Day now has to attend to a new prestidigous academy, where she has no friends to talk to, and is all alone, until she meets Xavier.
