"They're beautiful..." She breathed, looking down at the two squirming kits suckling from her stomach. "They're perfect." She giggled at her mate's words. "Indeed they are." She nodded. "But how will this work?" She asked, looking up at the dark brown tabby with black stripes. "How will you care for them when you're still loyal to your clan?" Her eyes saddened at this. "Every night, I swear I will stay with you from dusk until dawn." He purred, bright green eyes shining as he swore this. "That's it!" She purred suddenly. "What's it?" He asked, confused. "The brown tabby kit will be Dusk, and the ginger she-kit will be Dawn." She purred. "They are the living essence of my promise." The tom purred in amusement. "I love you." He meowed, looking into her eyes. "And I, you." She purred, licking his nose, as they both curled up around the kits and fell asleep.

"Oh Frances doesn't be so harsh on them." the she-cat purred. "But Lucy, you know as well as I do that they will want to follow me to my no-pelt's den, then your no-pelt will be so worried that it will forget about you and will look for the kits," Frances said. "You don't have to worry so much." Dream said, "We would not be able to hop on top of the fence!" "Speak for yourself!" her sister Cloud said as she hopped onto the fence. She gasped as she steadied herself and looked out on the world beyond the fence. It was right then and there that she knew that was where she belonged.
