Jayson sat in front of the television watching the world slowly unravel. San Diego was all but gone. Scenes of violence and chaos owned the television that morning. People being attacked by other people. Most ripped to pieces. But instead of dying they were reborn. Zombies, Walkers, Draugr, Zekes, were just some of the names that these things go by. To Jayson they were called Runners. Desperately he waited to hear from his parents who were somewhere in the chaos tapped and trying to get out. As the government assumes control as they try to stop the spread of the virus Jayson realizes that they have zero control as San Diego goes off the power grid. Word quickly spreads that Runners are now being reported in Arizona and further north in California. He chooses to leave his house to help his best friend, Jordyn, and her family survive. A new world awaits them as they fight to stay alive and a chance to start their life over again.

Each new strand mutated and became its own, new virus, and spread more easily than the first. The Walking Corpse virus was the deadliest one, the one that took everyone by surprise. Laura and her family had held up in their apartment until supplies ran out, forcing them outside for the first time since the virus took over. In a moment of chaos, Laura and her younger sister are forced away from their family. Trying to get back to their loved ones, Laura and her sister meet a military combat medic who claims he can help them. •The title may be foreshadowing • The book is inspired by All That's Left In The World by Erik J.
