The community protects not just humans. There are people that have gained special powers, traits even transformations. Same thing goes for the animals inside of the community. Even though there is crime and violence from time to time, most of the community is quite peaceful and friendly. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people.
