Athena believes her world is perfect. Direct democracy means that everyone votes, on everything: from how their healthcare is funded to the colour of the clothes they wear.

When an explosive encounter with the mysterious Dyo throws Athena's beliefs into turmoil, Athena is soon drawn into a society on the outskirts, where she discovers a darker side to the world she lives in. But there is danger in the truth and this new knowledge comes at a heavy price. Can Athena turn her back on everything she has ever believed in? And what will happen to her if she does?

Trey is the soldier that defines duty. Misao is the future of the ruling council. Claire is the girl with a secret that will rock the foundations of their entire civilization. Unbeknownst to them, the entire fate of Akropolis lies in their hands. Either humanity will find a way to survive or it will sink slowly into the sea of extinction.

She sends Tilda to the sensor hq she runs, where Tilda meets fellow sensor James, who along with her long term friend and sensor Jeanie; joins the rebellious organisation, known as the Wish Sensors. They protect and train sensors, ready for the ban when they take back control of the government, that oppresses them. While Tilda and James grow closer, the rebellion grows with propaganda, threats and sabotage; as Tilda must deal with why fate has made her different to the other sensors . The sensor struggle grows more intense to demonstrate what has been kept from the world. Failing to do so will lead to her death, but Athena doesn't know that. The only thing that makes her happy that she was Listed is a girl she meets, Lavender. Demalynn is surprised to find out she is the Helper, but is astounded to learn the identity of the Gravidarum.
