drown. verb; to die through submersion in and inhalation of water. Nereid Briggs washed up on the shores of New York in May. She exhibited signs of paranoia and possible delusion leading up to her discovery, claiming a green-eyed man followed her to her home, according to her friends. All signs pointed to suicide by drowning. The most unusual fact about the matter is that Nereid Briggs is not dead. After escaping the clutches of a siren meant to lure her to her doom, Nereid is thrown into a centuries-old underwater war that only she can end. Both sides don't want her involvement, and they will stop at nothing to bring her to a watery grave. But after entering the oceanic country for herself, Nereid finds herself inexplicably drawn to action. And the cause may just be one worth drowning for.

The Legend of Naida is a story I, and one of my friends helped, create. Naida was once an underwater utopia, where sirens and fish lived peacefully under the rule of a powerful king. However, when his daughter takes control, she avoids it, and because of her actions caused it to be destroyed. With no home left, she flees. Time passes and eventually, becoming convinced by a seahorse, decided to go back to fix her past mistake. But what will it cost to have what you've always wanted back?
