When you turn 20 you are paired with a man so that you can please him. When your partner dies, you are placed back into a camp until you die. We have no rights. We live in a man's world. In my world there is no love. One of the oldest women in my camp told stories of years ago, when there was love. She told of kissing and embracing and this feeling inside that never went away while you were with this man. She told of making love, and how she would experience all of this with her man of choice. She told of mutual respect between themselves. He was called her husband, and she was his wife. I want that. More than anything in the world.
