"Gerard, are you sure this is a good idea?" Mikey asked.

Gerard shook his head. "No. But I want to do this."

"Gerard, you don't have to do this. I can help you through this."

As his pen hovered over the paper, Gerard weighed all his options. But, he was determined. "Mikey, I get it. But I think this is what I need to do."

Mikey sighed. "Alright, go ahead and sign."

And he did. And it brought Claire into his life.
