Wrote my own ending for the Murakami novel, "Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage", as it ended on a cliffhanger. In the book, Murakami's vivid descriptions and unique writing style provided a point of view that really pulled me in, so much that I wasn't only seeing the world behind the characters' eyes but actually delving into his mind, and becoming him. Through things like dreams, dark thoughts and a lot of ruminating in deep introspection, a deep layer of vulnerability is exposed, leading to a connection that transcends the vicarious, and by the end of the book I was really rooting for the character - and the cliffhanger ending left me somewhat unsatisfied; I had to imagine my own ending for it, and put it down into words. All Rights Reserved
