Theseus Scamander was a powerful wizard and well known Auror, alongside him stood his best friend and old Hogwarts classmate, Ruth Margaret. Together, they were unstoppable. Though with the growing danger of Gellert Grindelwald, the Ministry of Magic assigns both of them to help capture the dark wizard and upon corresponding with Percival Graves, the Director of Magical Security of MACUSA, they come up with an agreement to allow Ruth into New York in hopes of finding Grindelwald.

There, she comes into contact with Newton Scamander, Theseus's younger brother who used to hold an adorable crush on her back in Hogwarts.
