I walk to the front door of school and people stare. They stare at my hair. All my beautiful hair. I'm only going to school for one more week until I have to go back to the hospital for my hopefully final surgery. Hopefully I'm tired of fighting I have been fighting for a year now. My hair is starting to fall out since I started chemo but I'm trying to wear it down as long as I can until I have none left. The surgery better work. Adeline is a girl with stage three lung cancer and is trying to accomplish everything before her time comes. Until something tragic happens and she realizes how short life is.

Sometimes we find our lifeline but it's not quite what we expect. Jacquie is going through a lot in her own life but she has a promise to keep. Will she break it or will she stay next to Adeline when moments come and test their already unsteady ground? "It's funny how all people see is water coming out of the sky and ruining their day. I don't see rain like that. It's soothing in a way. It falls so gracefully without a care in the world where it lands. It can land in the ocean, but you know what? It will still make a ripple and after it falls into the ocean it will stand with the rest of the drops of water, freshwater and saltwater combining. Does that stop it from shining? No. Why? Because now it joined hands with many others to make one of the most beautiful things in the world. Why can't we be like that raindrop?" She speaks out of her mind. It's not the best analogy and I honestly wouldn't have thought of such a comparison if it wasn't for Adeline. I smile up at her knowing that all she needs me to do is listen.
