**This is a sequel to Hunting Royalty, it won't make any sense if you haven't read it first** Nate's parents had the love of his life executed only days after he proposed to her. Despite what everyone says about Alia, he knows she was innocent. Without her he has no interest in anything especially his duties as Crown Prince. He doesn't care about the girl claiming to be pregnant with his child, he doesn't care who the new High Priestess is and he doesn't care about the new ways the rebels are trying to kill him. Let them, then he can be with her. Alia is not as dead as everyone believes, she's followed in her mother's footsteps and faked her own death. She is literally walking in the footsteps of her enemy after becoming Eva Forrester so she can infiltrate the rebels. It's not as easy as she thought, the rebels don't trust her and she has to be careful of every word she speaks. The hardest part is watching the man she loves grieve for her, every time she sees his haunted eyes she regrets every decision she made.

**** After seizing the throne from his brother, Prince Aaron expected to rule-he did not expect to suffer. Kaley is crumbling, its enemies circling like vultures, its people on the brink of despair. The court is a nest of vipers, whispering of his downfall. War looms at the borders, betrayal festers within the palace walls, and the weight of the crown begins to crush the man beneath it. At his side stands Irisa-his Empress, his ruin, the woman he cannot bear to love yet cannot let go. Their marriage was meant to be a partnership, a sanctuary. Instead, it is a battlefield, a slow-burning tragedy unraveling under the strain of duty and deception. Love has no place in the throne room, and as Kaley demands more, Aaron is forced to decide how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice. But the throne is never truly won-it is only borrowed, and always at a cost. Blood will be spilled. Bonds will break. And in the end, the question is not whether Aaron can hold onto the kingdom, but whether he can survive it.
