Baiardo: beautiful one day, full of intrigue the next. Juliet Carlsen is taking some much needed time out in the tiny northern Italian village of Baiardo where she hopes to find peace and quiet and perhaps some perspective after years of caring for her terminally ill mother. The sunshine, serenity and general sense of ‘la dolce vita’ are weaving their magic; the attentions of a handsome, if hot tempered, architect named Luca don’t hurt either. But Juliet begins to notice little cracks appearing in the smooth surface of village life and when her ex-lover arrives with plans for both Juliet and the village she finds herself at the centre of a drama which threatens the very fabric of life in Baiardo. ******************************************************************************** Thanks to all those who have commented. I've taken on board your thoughts and completed a rewrite of the early chapters.

This is the story of Juliet, a 16 year old girl. Her mother passed away and she has to go live with her father and brothers again. She was the outcome of a drunken affair. Her father was too lost in his grief to actually be there for her and her brothers never liked her. She was almost 5 the last time she saw them before she begged her mother to never see her brothers and father again. So they moved to New York, where her father couldn't get to them. Since moving, Juliet has been through it. She was working as much as possible to save up for the future and trying to pass school. Her brothers aren't excited that she is back but neither is Juliet. She won't let them hurt her again. Besides, she's got other problems. This is my first story and I am not very good at writing summaries. It's both cliché and not. But anyways just give it a chance. P.S. Sadly there won't be any spicy scenes because I don't want to write a cringy one.
