'When the time comes, no matter the circumstances.' I heard my mom and dad's voice in my head speaking in unison. The sound of blood-curdling screams filled the ear mixing in with the sound of the hum. The hum seemed to sing along with the sounds of the scream. 'No matter what you hear, you must never look up.' "No, don't look up. Don't look up. " I chanted to myself as my head touched the ground. I heard voices following mine over the hum which turned angry. The hum began to try and take control of our bodies trying to force us to look up. It was like a game of tug of war.... And I refuse to lose.

IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. I can't focus on anything. IT looks at me, IT's eyes are all gray. IT smirks and stands all of the way up, towering over me. I pull myself up and wobble away from IT on unsteady feet. I look back to see IT laughing, watching me walk away. I can't hear her terrible laughter, and I don't want... to... I fall over, feeling woozy. My head spins and I sway as I try to stand. I look back again, to see that the fog has covered my path, and I can only see a couple of inches away from my face. I blow out air and fall over. * * * * 13 year old Colten, takes a shortcut through the field next to his house on his way home. But why can't he reach his destination?
