Shirley Holman lives nowhere near any other living being except for her ancient donkey, so what happens when a mysterious letter appears at her doorstep beckoning her to visit an enchanted forest that will solve her problems?
Well, of course, she goes, but the trip isn't exactly what she expected with a road filled with bandits, savage animals, unbearable weather conditions, and a boy? To add to all of this, the enchanted forest isn't as magical as it seems.
