Nia is a woman who lost everything that mattered at a young age, and has been plagued by it ever since. Nightmares about her trauma enter her dreams almost every night, and though she has someone to lean on, she can't be rid of them. Dreams about a place she's never seen before begin to come to her on the nights she doesn't relive her past, but they affect her just as strongly. She feels like she is going to be torn apart until her fate changes unexpectedly. Her best friend and occasional lover, Thalia, shows up on her doorstep with news that Nia has inherited a house now that she has turned twenty-three. Excited for a change of scenery, she and Thalia set out to see the house, but things begin to become strange. Nia recognizes the house from her dreams, and the man who has been appearing in them as well. A man whose face she could never remember. As things become more complicated, she realizes that the house and the man are not as they seem, and they are both hiding a dark secret. A secret that changes everything Nia has ever known or thought possible. A secret that could mean life or death.

Nine Years earlier, Zane Callen, a boy with inclination towards creation, had presented his heart-and a metal rose, which he had made himself-to a girl named Kanami Hanako. But unfortunately for him, she squashed such hopes and instead of holding on to it and treasuring it, she threw it into a puddle that simply ruined its bright red color signifying his refusal. Now however, the force of nature seems to conjoin them once again, more so due to the greed harbored by families. Kanami's rich and powerful family has negotiated the marriage of Zane to their daughter Kanami with Zane's family whereby if he agrees to marry her, the family will be compensated with great wealth. However, there's a condition- that Kanami and Zane will be together with each other at their university in Japan for as long as they are in school, they will 'revive' the lost love. Kanami, spoiled and bossy, at first treats it as a bother, while Zane, dealing with the scars left by her, finds it hard to get involved emotionally. Still, they interact differently, on the daily basis. As Kanami slowly comes to terms with Zane and grows feelings for him, she is forced to come to terms with her own faults and, more significantly, the consequences of her previous conduct. Zane, on the other hand, does not know whether he can trust her or whether he risks loving her again. For both, the contract raises a question they are not ready to face: is there a possibility for love to grow in the midst of duty? Or shall the slits in their souls become so profound that even healing will not be possible? With a year on the countdown, Zane and Kanami must now now approach the question of whether this wedding is purely a transactional affair or takes an opportunity for, self-development, comfort and most importantly, true love.
