This is a poem I wrote, which could be considered to be on the broad spectrum of self-discovery. However, more specifically, it speaks about how adults do not always see the growth of the next generation or even their own children. "Letting go" is an important step of parenthood and failure to do so creates problems for the parents as well as the child. The poem is written from the perspective of a young person dealing with the frustrations from this kind of treatment (i.e. being treated like a child).
