Naomi wakes up in a strange place, with a debt to be paid. This is a city at war, and she soon learns that the rules here are different than the ones she used to know. Partnered with a veteran in her new role, she should be able to navigate her new life. Unfortunately, he's more likely to make a sardonic comment than lend a hand. Soon, she is plunged into political intrigue and a city wide territory dispute between four factions - one for each god. As she learns more about the inner workings of the city, she begins to suspect that there is much more at stake than just territory.

I know this isn't the normal kind of thing that I post on here, but this was the story I was writing for NaNoWriMo 2017 so I figured I'd share. This is my first time attempting to write a novel, so I apologize if it doesn't turn out too well. Also, this is just the first draft that I have decided to publish.

(Unedited) "You weren't here! You haven't been in a long time so stop trying to act like you were." Willow grew up in a house with six brothers, one of them being her twin. She's grown up in a two bedroom apartment with an alcoholic mother who never managed to pay the bills on time or even buy food, so the eldest two brother's always took the responsibility, and once they left it was passed on to the next brother. But eventually all her big brother's had left without looking back and it was just her, her twin Wes and their mother whenever she was around. They got along just fine for the next two years, they somehow managed to get through the tough times together and they thought it would stay that way, the two of them against the world. Until their mother got pregnant and they had the responsibility of raising their baby sister at the age of 11. They pulled through and it was now the three of them against the world. They believe they can get through anything and they hope that's true when suddenly the brothers who disappeared years ago start to show up looking to mend their relationship with the twins who hold a deep hatred for their older brothers. Can they fix the broken relationship with the twins and build a new one with their new baby sister? Or is it too late? --- It's better than it sounds.

Charlotte sat there unmoving, tears falling down her cheeks. She could not do anything as she watched her sisters casket go down into the ground. She did not look to her older brothers for comfort, she did not look to her parents. She just sat there and sadly watched her sister and bestfriend, her twin, as she got burried in the ground. Her heart felt like there was an empty void in it, a missing-or rather-a dead piece. The sky opened up ontop of them, though non of them cared, they welcomed the rain and what it brought. For Charlotte, it meant new life. A life without her twin. Charlotte's never done anything without her sister before, but now she's going to have to. ~~ Charlotte grew up with her twin being her best friend, the one who helped her through the toughest times in her life. They had a connection that astounded people.The pain of losing someone so close, of someone who was literally like your other half, is one that no one should have to experience. But Charlotte did. Now, after her twin's death, Charlotte will not only have to live life without her twin, but learn to get close to people again. With struggles of self worth and depression, Charlotte has a hard time accepting her life as it now is. She even gains an unlikely friend but is hesitant to even let him in her life. Will this person and her family help Charlotte cope with her life as it is now? Who will save her from herself?

It's just excitement from meeting a new friend with similar interests right? Lies. Betrayals and Loss. Everything comes to light one night forcing Charlotte to accept new realities and maybe not everything is as perfect as they seem to be.
