When Lynnzee and her twin brother Devaun (pronounced Devin) are taken from their parents when they are only eighteen months, they are sent into a foster care program.

Now, separated from Devaun since that terrible day, Lynnzee goes from home to home, unable to find a perfect family willing to adopt her. But when she runs out of homes willing to take her in Indiana, her caseworker, Ashley, is forced to look to other States. Will Lynnzee find a family when she's moved to Michigan? Or will she strike out again as she's done dozens of times before?

Along with her search for a family, Lynnzee has always wanted to reunite with her brother, but not even Ashley has had any luck in finding him.
