Complicated

As I start walking down the empty sidewalk, I reach in my pocket and pull my earphones out. Just as I expected, they're a mess. When I start to untangle them, I bump into what feels like a wall. Quickly getting up I start to rub my but and then my forehead. I get my earphones from the ground and notice there's someone talking to me.
"I'm sorry, what?" I said to the boy looking at me.
"I said I'm sorry. I didn't see you there; I was trying to pick a damn song." He said smiling ashamed.
"Well, I was trying to untangle my earphones to spend half an hour picking one too; but its ok, no worries."
"Jajaja, cool. My name is Jake." He said extending his hand towards me smiling brightly.
"Nice to meet you Jake. My name is Venus, Ve for short." I said shaking his hand as I slightly smile.
