I honestly didn't want to be here, but Eric wouldn't stop asking. He grew on me too much; we grew too much on each other. No matter how much I wanted to say it was right, it wasn't.

A small breeze picked up as the sun slowly set. The river seemed as though it would go on forever-it seemed endless.

"I..." Eric paused and took a deep breath, "This..."

"You..." I said mockingly, a smile stretching on the corner of my lips.

He let out an embarrassed laugh. I always admired how naturally red his lips were. It's unfair how long his lashes are; I have to put a coat or two of mascara on to meet his.

"You're beautiful, okay?"

My face instantly heated up. How am I supposed to respond to that? Never have I thought that would ever come out of his mouth. It was completely unexpected. I felt like I was panicking-no, I am! What do I say?!
