The Last Shot

“Calvin Jackson” the PA Announcer yells as Calvin comes out of the tunnel for the first basketball game of his freshman season. He high fives his teammates and then goes into game mode. He sits focused on the bench waiting for his number to be called to get in the game. His team is winning 45-43. He is not sure if he is going to get in the game at all. Calvin turns and yells, “Coach put me in” over the screaming fans. He is patient but mad. His coach finally calls his number, Calvin quickly jumps from the bench takes off his worm up pants and checks into the game. The game is now tied at 50 a piece with only 2 seconds left of the game. When Calvin checks into the game everything becomes slow for him, as he looks around at the screaming fans of Lake Wood high School. His coach starts yelling “run play 5-3” Calvin instantly runs to the three point line catches the ball and then shoots. As he shot the ball the buzzer went off and the ball was in the air, Swirling around the hoop and finally goes in! Calvin had on the game for the Lake Wood High School Eagles.
