(BOOK #1 IN 'THE HANES SERIES')
"When in doubt, will Love prevail above all? Or will things turn out just as bad, or even worse than before?"
Alchemy Hanes (or Ally for short), had a rough life to begin with. To her family she was only ever a pathetic excuse of a daughter compared to her popular infamous older brother who had scored a job at a very rich company and left her behind to fend for herself.
Well, that all changes when Ally has had enough and goes to a wild party to drown out her sorrows, only to find the following morning lying in a bed next to the player of her school, Randy Laymore, and naked, might I add.
With no idea what happened the night before, Ally finds that she struggles with her life even more than before and soon sets out on her own, never telling Randy what he had given her that one blissful night they spent together.
Years later, Ally and Randy meet once again, but at first he doesn't recognize her, then gradually learns that she is the younger sister of her famous, rich older brother, who Randy conveniently started working for as his personal assistant.
What will Ally do when all of a sudden Randy wants to spend more time with her and involved in her life? What will Randy do once he finds out what Ally had kept him from knowing all these years?
Could it be love, or just another trick the old-time player uses to capture a woman's heart?
"Do you know how hard it is for me knowing that you're with someone else?" Tyler asked, staring at me intensely.
"You think this is easy for me?" I asked, trying to hold back my tears.
"I didn't say it was -" he began, but I cut him off.
"It's not. I have to go around hating myself. Hating myself for thinking about you. Hating myself for wanting you. I just want to stop feeling this way." I stepped closer to him as my voice shook with every word. "I want to forget about you, but I just--." The rest of my sentence was cut short as Tyler took the final step, closing the gap between us and brought his lips to mine.
