Adley and Lux were living a normal life, as two adopted nine-teen year old, twin sisters. Well- at least they thought they were living a normal life until their city, New York has been attacked. Nobody is allowed to leave and nobody is allowed to come in because they look human, but they're not. 
People call the attackers, the 'Things' because nobody knows what they truly are. They aren't human, they're supernatural. People always new Werewolf's existed but the Werewolf's always laid low and never bothered anybody, but not these 'things' they are killing for sport.
Adley and Lux need to survive on their own with no parents to help them due to their adoptive parents dying in a car crash last year. They are stuck in their dorm with everyone else who lives out of town.
Nobody is allowed to leave, nobody is allowed to come in.
