Mira Stormwillow is an outcast in a hidden forest village full of ninjas. Her mother used secromancy - a type of magic to merge the cells of humans with creatures to give humans extraordinary abilities - therefore causing Mira to be born with cat-like features. Mira's added agility gives her an advantage over the average ninja and the other children bully her until she runs away. Now forced to survive outside of her home village, which vanishes after she departs, she joins a group of bandits in a town called Wintermelt and sets off on an epic adventure filled with knights, thieves, pirates and dragons.
This story follows events that take place before the first A Soldier's Crest novel by Joseph Angotti.
