Before I knew it I was standing on the edge. My heart pounding as I looked down on the city. I closed my eyes and braced myself. Then all hell broke loose. My blonde hair flew around me and the sky opened up. Something crashed into me sending me rolling across the rooftop. The breath knocked out of me. A hand helped me to my feet. That's when I saw her for the first time. I guess you could say Adira was my guardian angel.

The floor here was still stone like in the hallway, yet it was dead quiet. Her shoes just made no noise.
